Twas the weekend before Christmas!

Brandt, Me, Dory!
This weekend was so much fun. It all started on Thursday evening when Dory and Brandt came to sleepover. They came to the big city for the Neil Diamond concert. On Friday I went to work, but around 1 my boss told me that the university was closing because of the snow storm and that I could go home! I didn't really think I should leave since my house is within walking distance of my work, but who was I to question the wisdom of my boss? I left and Brandt, Dory, Tyler and I were off on some adventures. We did some shopping, watched a lot of Mama Mia (I highly recommend) and then took them to see Neil. Today we hung out, went to lunch and had a great time being together! I've said it before but I will say it again, my siblings are my favorite! They are wild and crazy and we have a blast together. Brandt and Dory I am so glad you guys could come! I love you guys so much!

Check out how well my couch accommodates two full grown adults!

Me and My little sissy! (Sorry the pic is a little fuzzy)

Feeding a baby

Before Cammie and Christian left we went out to visit and to get the couch. That night I was playing with Cali and Carter like usual when all the sudden Carter's baby got hungry. I told him that we better find the baby a bottle but he already knew how to feed one! Then he showed me! He said, "You feed a baby on your tummy!" duh of course you do!

C is for cookie, it's good enough for me; oh cookie cookie cookie starts with C."

Yikes! Today I went out of control. I started with gingerbread boys and ended up with chocolate chip, and sugar too! It really put me in the holiday mood! Would anyone like to come over?

Here are the delicious gingerbread boys! These are so good!

Yummy sugar

Good old chocolate chip!

Tyler caught the spirit and decorated this beautiful cookie which is his representation of Barack Obama

These are for Cali and Carter. I miss them like crazy and wish they could have been here to help me!

Snow!

You know it's a good day when you wake up with this! I love the snow and thankfully I don't have to drive in it. The snow reminds me of my Grandpa Cook-he loved it. If he were here now he would have the snowmobiles out.

The Pollastro Goodbye Party!

Saying goodbye is never easy but having fun together can make it a little better. Wednesday Tyler and I went to pick up the couch and got to spend some time with Camme, Christian and the wild meowzers. On Thursday night we decided to have a going away party. Brandt, Jayna and Mikey were all able to come! (Dory we missed you a lot!) We ate at red robin and then went to see bolt. We had a great time together and it was a very memorable night.

The Silver Lining

There is only one thing that could make these kids leaving me easier......

Getting their beautiful couch! Cammie and Christian were so gracious to let us purchase their lovely sectional. Tyler and I have been looking at sectionals forever and we are thrilled to finally have a nice piece of furniture. We were able to give our 2 very old couches to 2 separate families in our court. Both families were very excited to have a couch and we were very excited to give them away! It worked out for everyone! Merry Christmas to me! I am so excited!

Cammie and Christian bought this couch less than a year ago. It is so comfy and nice!

Old blue was passed down from Tyler's grandparents, to his parents, to Tyler. Old blue lived with Tyler during his college years and even served as a bed for one of Tyler's roomates. It has been with us for the last 3 years. Oh hell, if this couch could talk!

Go Cowboys

Just because life isn't busy enough, just because I haven't paid enough tuition for the last 6 years, just because I am jealous of Tyler always having fun tests and quizzes, I am currently applying to graduate school! This was not a spur of the moment decision, it is something I resolved to do many years ago. After I graduated and began working I started looking into programs that would benefit me in my career. I talked with several academic advisors and researched what the U had but nothing seemed to fit. Since I train and teach everyday I wanted to pursue a degree in education. The U has that, but they were mainly for people that want to teach k-12. I looked at several other options, but I wanted a program that had a strong education/training component. I had basically decided that I would keep looking and thinking until something popped! Well what do you know something did. Cammie told me that she had been looking at what the University of Wyoming had to offer since she is going to be up there. She directed me to some amazing outreach/online programs that the University of Wyoming offers. The program is online and won't interfere with my work schedule. Best of all the degree is a master of arts in education with an emphasis in adult learning and post secondary studies. Many of the classes are directed towards instructional design and educating adults. All of the classes will benefit me directly as I teach and train in my current job. I am so excited about the challenge and hope I get in!

Hilarious!
