Families are Forever

On August 13th we got the terrible news about my cousin Laney. She passed away while hiking with her boyfriend in Willard Canyon. We have been sad, mad, scared, shocked and all the other emotions that come with a sudden death. I have been touched and humbled by the love of others. Laney’s viewing is tonight and her funeral is tomorrow.

Life is purposeful and a gift. We have the chance to uplift and help those around us. We may not have tomorrow. If there is someone you need to forgive-do it! If there is someone you need to love more-do it! We don’t know when our time is gone.

In spite of very real pain I have felt a lot of peace. I know that Our Savior suffered for us. He suffered all the pain we will ever feel. He loves us perfectly because he understands us perfectly. I know that when we rely on him we can feel the love of his atonement and find peace in his love for us.

Here are a few links from the week.

A visit from the kids

Cammie and Christian made a trip the temple so I took the kids! They love coming to the magical University Village. There was Caleb in the swing (repeating over and over "I swing! I swing!") There was Cali painting her nails, and Carter reuniting with his old friend "Lynny." Once we were tired from all the outside actitivities we made cinnamon rolls.

Cali had some serious skills in the baking dept! She did all the steps!

Caleb kept reaching for the raw cinnamon rolls in the pan! He loves the good stuff.

In Caleb's opinion they were delicious! He kept saying, yum, yum, whilst eating them. He was in Cinnamon roll heaven!

Carter also gave them 2 thumbs up!

The only mistake was not sending more home with the kids! Tyler and I had a sugar overload!

Random Pictures from my Phone!

My phone is old, super old and I wanted to save the fun pics messages I have received or taken over the years. As I was dumping them I realized how hilarious/special/memorable some of them were and thought I would share. I don't have the dates for all of them (sorry it's a 4 year old flip phone, not an iphone) but I hope you enjoy! I know my family certainly will!

This picture takes us back to the fall of 2009 just before Caleb was born. Brandt and Tyler went on a drive through emigration canyon and found this litttle tiny deer. What do you generally do when you see a deer? Swerve? Well if you are Brandt and Tyler you pick it up and take pictures of it!

This was a poster I made for the first year I family participated in the MS walk (2009). I thought my slogan and the huge tootise pop I created were very crafty. The funny part of this story is during the walk somone stole this huge fake tootsie pop! They must have thought it was pretty cool too!

This was a quick pic i snapped when we took our car on a test drive from the dealer. I didn't know if I should get it so I sent a text to my wise advisor Cammie for her input! We love this car!

This glowing animal now hangs in our home! Yes its true. Tyler sent me this the night when he shot this huge deer. Just look at the huge smile on his face!

Tyler on his dream machine! I think this was sometime in 2008 at one of the many motorcycle shops we have been to over the years. I made the mistake of promising one to Tyler if he got into pharmacy school. Well he is amlost done and still doesn't have one. I guess paying tuition is just too much fun!

This was a pic of the day Cammie and I wore the same outfit to work! It was a great day for us!

Carter on a cute kid sized motorcycle! He made Cammie take the picture and send it to Tyler!

This is one of my all time favorites. This was Carters representation of Barack Obama from preschool 2 years ago!

This was the day that Alexis said Yes! We are so glad she did!

This was a few days before the engagement! Brandt sent me a pic of this beautiful ring! I love it!

I don't know why I remember this, but this was the night before Caleb was born. Cammie was in the hospital and Tyler and I were studying. I guess we had been at the library a little too long!

Brandt and a camel-no this was not in the middle east. It was in Logan Utah. Brandt went to visit a friend for the weekend an sent me this memorable photo!

Okay just a quick precursor to the Collage of Caleb. When Caleb joined our family there had not been a baby for 4 years! Yes we were all obsessed! So please bear with me!

Mari sent me this pic of Caleb waving hello!

Caleb on his first no car set trip to the store!

Caleb's first haircute and tast of angel food cake! He loves a good cake!

Caleb aka President Roosevelt out for a morning stroll with his mama!

Caleb on his first day after Mom and Tot swimming! Cammie called this one "sleep eating"

Caleb and his cookie!

A handsome little Yankee a few days after he got home from the hospital! Yes he is a large kid!

The picture Cammie sent me from the hospital!

Caleb makes his exciting entrance into the world! I love his picture!

Cali's Baptism

On July 22nd we headed to Rock Springs for Cali's birthday and baptism. It was a great weekend and I am so proud of her. Cali is an amazing girl, and yes I got pretty choked up by the whole thing. I also felt so lucky that Cali asked Dory and I to sing a song at her baptism. It was a day we will never forget! Love you lots Cali girl!

Cammie made Cali her dream dress for the big day! What a Mom! Cali was in heaven!
