Martins Cove

The last day of our trip was a stop at Martins cove. It was a beautiful snowy day so we got the full effect. We took the 5 mile hike in the snow to the cove. We were cold and freezing, and couldn't help but think about the pioneers who were also freezing and passed away there. It was really special to reflect on all the people who went before us to establish the gospel in Utah. We loved being there!

Crazy Horse, Reptile Gardens and Devils Tower

Our next stop on the vacation was crazy horse, a gigantic Indian riding a horse that has been in construction since the 1940's. It was a pretty interesting sight.




Next we were off to reptile gardens. Tyler and I both thought it was awesome. They have every reptile you could ever imagine.

There were about 10 different types of ferocious alligators!

Our favorite were these huge turtles, they were so fun to watch. When they would lay down there shells would make a huge thunk on the cement it was really fun.

Next, we were off to devils tower, a famous Wyoming landmark. It was really awesome to see it. This thing is in the middle of no where and looks like nothing else around it!

Wild West Adventure

After graduation Tyler and I took a few days off work to see more of the wild west. We saw so many awesome things and had a great time together. We arrived at our hotel late Saturday night and stayed in Keystone SD, right outside Mt. Rushmore. The next day, we saw it for real, and it was amazing.

Here was our first glimpse of Mt. Rushmore 5/8/2009.

We woke up very early and got to Mt. Rushmore around 7 am. There were about 5 people there. It was very peaceful and very spectacular.







The visitor center was amazing and told the history of Mt. Rushmore. We loved this picture of Gutzon Borglum, the sculptor of Mt. Rushmore.
Inside the visitor center. They explained how he used these casts in a studio and then multiplied the measurements to create it them on the Mt.

Dream Come True!

Graduation from Grad school!!! Holy cow was it an awesome day! Tyler and I headed to Wyoming on Friday night, picked up my graduation robes and ate dinner. The next morning we had a small reception with my department. I was so grateful to have My amazing Mom and Dad and sister Dory there. Cammie and Christian were also gracious enough to spend their 11th anniversary at my graduation! Thanks to all of you for being there on this special day.

The ceremony was great (a little long) but getting my name announced, being hooded and seeing so many of my family was amazing. This was a day I will never forget. It was exhilarating to experience one of my life long dreams come true. Enjoy the endless pics!
