Mazatlan! Vacation day 5 July 14

Mazatlan was beautiful, hot, humid, fun and adventurous! Read on!
We began the day ready for another adventure and I was ready to find some more mexicans to barter with.
Every where we went we got yelled at "hey honeymooners! you need a ride, want a necklace, I'll make you a deal, come on make my day!" These people are resourceful and resilient and I liked the heckeling, I thought it was fun!

We grabbed a map and hitched a ride downtown with some other people from the cruise. The car looked like a golf cart and our driver drove like a maniac but what do you expect from a $2 cab ride. I could not stop laughing as we served in and out of cars. Apparently there are not a lot of how do you say, traffic laws! I thought I was going to die but it really added to the experience.
Downtown Mazatlan was hopping with people. We walked through the marketplace and it looked felt like we were in a movie. The humidity was intense as you can tell by the shot below. I have never sweated like that in my life, but how could I complain, we were in Mexico!
We took a few pictures at this beautiful church. It was a cool tourist attraction but they were having a funeral, so we moved on!

Tyler and I wanted to head to the golden zone. It is a beautiful part of Mazatlan right on the beach. However, since we had been at the beach all of the day in Cabo, we wanted to see a few more of the beauties of Mazatlan. We decided to walk! Why not, we are both fit young "honeymooners!"
We started our trek to the Golden Zone and saw some amazing sights. All along the way cab drivers would yell out to us! "Americans! want a ride to the Golden Zone!" "Utah, let me give you a ride." We politely declined because we wanted to walk. I said to Ty, "Are we really that obvious, do we really stand out that bad." Tyler said, "uh yeah" and no sooner had Tyler said this, I saw a woman walking past us nursing her baby. Yes I guess we were "different"!
They have cool statues all along the beach! Tyler wanted to pose by this immodest mermaid!
I loved seeing these cool houses right on top of cliffs!
Beautiful beaches!

I bartered my little heart out! By this time I felt a little more comfortable and bought many lovely items! Can you really have too many necklaces? I think not!

Loved the views! Seriously I had never seen anything like this before!

We saw these crazy cliff divers going for it! There were people swimming and hanging out everywhere!

Loved seeing all the fun sights!

Ahoy! There in the distance we can see the golden zone. That isn't so far away right?
My new beach house!
Looking back to our cruise ship! That tiny white spot is our ship!
We could see the golden zone but it seemed liked we had been walking forever. I think we started getting loopy from all the sun, sweat, jewlery buying, and crazy mexicans yelling at us because we were both feeling nuts! We walked for about another 30 minutes and we were finally in the golden zone!
We stopped at a restuarant to get some water and this delicious drink! No I have not been swimming yet, this is just my sweaty hair and face!
Tyler also looking pretty sexy!

We enjoyed playing on the beach and checking out the golden zone.

It was so nice to put my little feet in the sand! In the words of Carter "It felt so right!"
This was a cool sea shell museum
It was about ready to get back on the ship so we found another friendly cab driver! You can kind of see how golf carty this ride was.
Next came the moment of truth. Tyler asked the cabbie "How far is it from downtown to the Golden Zone?" He replied, "Oh about 18 Kilometers!"

Tyler and I both burst into laughter! Holy hell! Did we seriously walk 11 miles on our vacation! We are crazy! But we didn't regret it because we had seen so many awesome sights and had got sexy tans from it!

We jumped back on the ship and got a few more pictures of our beautiful stop!

We unwound by heading to the hot tub and eating our beloved frozen yogurt! I think we deserved a few extra desserts after almost walking a half marathon!
We went to dinner and headed off to bed for a perfect nights sleep!
