Becoming Gilsonated

I have known the Gilson's since I was 12 years old. There family is a blast and they love the outdoors. Most of Ty's family memories involve guns, and dead animals. Over the past 2.5 years I have done many things I thought I would never do.

Here I am Christmas 2006 shooting clay pigeons on Christmas Day? Who knew this would be an acceptable way to celebrate the birth of Christ? Here I am with Tyler and My father in law after the buffalo slaughter in August 2006. Yes I cried, but in a weird way it was exciting.

And I sure never expected to see a cute baby holding her first fire arm! This is my soon to be one year old niece.
This weekend we went to Mountain Green to attend a meeting with a group that my in-laws are involved with. The group (sportsman for fish and wildlife) legislates for hunting laws and animal management and they raise a lot of money to accommodate hunting for the future in Utah. At the end of the meeting they had some drawings and this sweet baby won this gun.
A few years ago this picture would have severly disturbed me. But since I understand the Gilson's love for hunting I was snapping pictures left and right. Her proud parents couldn't have been happier.
For the record I have never killed anything because I am afraid of killing something. However, I am not opposed to sporting the camo now and then (when appropriate).

If you are OK with babies holding fire arms, you are an official Gilson. I am sure that James is a very proud of his "Gilsonated" daughter-in-law.

I think this topic deserves a counter topic about Tyler becoming Peacockified! You can start with the Sound of Music Sing-a-long. You can also include Brandt saying, "OK...Love you, bye" at the end of their phone conversations!

Of course we know what item you like camo in best ;) That buffalo is HUGE! I haven't seen a picture of it yet. Are they going to mount it in their house? I still say they should stuff it and put it up in the front yard. I thought your in-laws had bought the baby's gun. I'm glad to know it was a random promotion for violence and not an intentional one. But really, I quite enjoy shooting clay pigeons and back in the day took out a few wild rabbits. I stick to just killing bugs in the yard now.
